Pup Stop has 90 large kennelruns - each twenty feet long and four feet wide - large enough to accommodate the largest breeds, or two or even three large dogs sharing comfortably. To protect our more rambunctious guests, our kennels are covered, at the top and bottom by heavy-gauge chain link fencing to discourage both the climbers and the diggers. The kennel floor is layered with several inches of pea gravel.

Our guests can relax comfortably in the heat of Colorado Summer. In the 90 degree-plus afternoons, our concrete dog dens remain a comfortable 15 to 20 degrees cooler than outdoor shade temperature. In the hot days of late June, most of our guests can be seen resting away the afternoon, each in his own private room, which is, after all, what summer is supposed to be about.

These Dens also become a sanctuary for our dogs in the dead of winter. Warmed from beneath by Radiant Floor Heating, the dens are warmest at the floor, which is where it is most needed. As the floor is warmed from underground, we are able to leave the doors open, allowing the critters access to the outdoors whenever they feel the need. Rather than our locking your pets inside at night, they are free to wander outside to sculpt, howl at the moon, or even sleep in the snow if they wish.

On a brisk winter's night, some of our Huskies, Malimutes, and other northern-bred guests can be seen dragging blankets out of their dens in order to sleep under the stars.
